I’m thrilled to have been chosen to be part of the team as Kenshin for events promoting the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin sequels! Our first event was at the Philippine ToyCon last weekend. I was there with the team on Saturday, along with a representative from Warner Bros. Japan.
We were part of the opening ribbon-cutting ceremony, a promotional panel for the upcoming RK movies, and we were at the Rurouni Kenshin movie booth for pictures and interviews. The booth featured the movie costumes for Kenshin, Aoshi, and Sanosuke that were flown in from Japan. It was amazing seeing them up close! I would probably have been happy to stare at them all day but we ended up very busy taking pictures and talking to people and press who dropped by the booth. I barely had time to take a few photos for myself, but I am happy that it means there continues to be so much enthusiasm and love for Rurouni Kenshin!
One of the highlights for me was the fact that Keishi Otomo, the director of the Rurouni Kenshin movies, had seen and shared pictures of our cosplay through his Twitter account!
The second Rurouni Kenshin film will be shown here in the Philippines on August 20, and the third installment on September 24! The first movie was fantastic so I am extremely excited for these sequels!
Long before the movies, the manga and anime for Rurouni Kenshin had such a big impact on me, so this series continues to have a very special place in my heart. It’s such an honor to have that love recognized and to have the opportunity to keep sharing it with others!
